A Little Imagination

a little history

a little glory

Though he’s very much alive, Michael’s biggest legacy in publishing would have to be 8 Days, the slick smart entertainment weekly he created in 1990 after boldly closing the sadly unprofitable RTV Times (English).

8 Days’ stunning success story paved the way for more new titles and revamps: among them many of Singapore’s freshest and most innovative reads: showbiz winners like I-Weekly and Lime, fashion and lifestyle glossies like Style, Vanilla and Manja. Along the way, Michael also shaped local editions of international titles like Elle, Arena, and FHM.

He was the creative force behind magazines specially customised and published for commercial companies and also government agencies. Michael has worked on over 30 publications for clients as diverse as Starhub, Singapore Tourism Board, the National HealthCare Group, Singapore International Foundation, Singapore Power and North-East CDC.

trained with the best

Michael has had the chance to learn from the media industry's best talents. He considers himself privileged to have worked alongside the best writers, editors, photographers, stylists, designers, and art directors in the region.

a little name calling

When the need arises, Michael steps in to help craft and think up names for people. The really high-profile brands he's coined names for include TODAY newspaper (Singapore's #2 most widely-read English paper) and Lush 99.5 (radio station specialising in chill-out music and cool sounds).
